52 days before the wedding

grabe, kailangan ko pang mag day-off para lang makapag-update dito :) here goes:
may wedding invites na kami!!!!! and it's pretty!!!! it's classy and something we can really be proud of. i love our invites and some people who've seen it already agrees as well. at least our hard work paid off. kudos to chris for the concept and design. he's really the man (and he's my man!) behind all the artwork for the wedding. and kudos to The Write Impression for a job well done. all invites are being taken cared of our coordinator as of the moment. the map to be inserted is still in production but the thank you cards have also been delivered as well.
other things we were able to accomplish to-date:
tablemarkers - all 25 pieces, all ready for printing
guest sheets - finalized design, 250 pieces to be printed in the phils
misalette - done with proofreading, 85 pieces to be printed in dubai
wedding bells - my mom was able to buy the bells already, finalized design of tags, to be printed in the phils
entourage dinner invites - done with design, waiting for directional map to venue and will send out (hopefully we can email the e-invite) next week
guest list - it's all been sent to our coordinator; printing of names on envelope on saturday; to be distrinbuted starting next week.
photos for AVP - compiled and will give to ruth (i love you ruth) who's leaving for manila on saturday; she'll drop by decisive moments and she'll give it to them
photos for photo mosaic - almost ready; just waiting for prenup shoot photos which is yet to happen in january.
schedule of prenup shoots: jan 4 (with mel cortez) and jan 5 (with kix tavora)
wedding ring design - we chose a very simple wedding band and we have given the design to our ninang/tita edith
caketopper look-a-like - delivered already :) and it really look like us hehehe
so many details but at least, we're slowly getting there.
with all the wedding preps, going home preps and honeymoon preps (not to mention that i still have work), it's all becoming stressful most times. i took a break from work today because i felt like i won't be able to function well for the rest of the week if i don't rest. this week is just too hectic for me.
and that's why most paperwork for the wedding i was able to do today.
and what's great about today was that i was able to talk with my wedding coordinator, angel, on the phone. thank god she was at the office when i called. we were finally able to tie some loose ends. and talking to her took my wedding preps stress away because she discussed with me some details she planned for the wedding.
here are some things she discussed that made me soooo glad i got her as my wedding coordinator:
- she had pink cocktail dresses made for her team so that on our wedding they're insync with my color motiff
- she will book our jan 5 prenup shoot at mmldc for a discounted price
- she will make our reception venue look fabulous the way i want it
- she and her team will devote their two weeks before jan 20 to our wedding alone. the last wedding they will handle before our wedding is on jan 6, after that, they will be devoted to us
- she has plans of getting our wedding published in a wedding magazine (keeping fingers crossed, if this happens, this will definitely be the biggest bonus to us ever)
one realization i have now that we're nearing the wedding date is that it's such a big help to the couple if they have chosen the right people to help them in the execution of their wedding plan. of course, there are no perfect suppliers, but what is important is that you get suppliers that really care about your wedding and those ones that are easy to get along with to the point that working with them is like working with a friend. i swear, just thinking about working with my wedding team excites me, knowing that we will be surrounded by people who have worked hard for our wedding and loves us as well.

we got MEL CORTEZ as main photographer!
this happened last 22 November 2006 (most parts of this entry are excerpts from my email to fellow bride-to-be and good friend ruth..so para talaga akong nagkukwento dyan)
great news!
i got THE one and only MEL CORTEZ as main photographer on our wedding day!!!! yehey!!!
so ang package namin decisive moments na talaga (hindi na little dreams) and yung supposedly main photog ko becomes my second photographer. i'm so happy!
ganito yung story...kasi nga in placed na talaga ang package namin and francis (the one who covered the willie-liz revillame wedding) was really the main photog. happy naman ako kay francis kaya lang when i called decisive moments/little dreams last week, i asked the marketing asst kung libre pa si mel cortez on jan 20. at sabi nya libre pa. at na-tempt naman ako. so sabi ko, can you ask him kung magkano ang additional kung sya ang main photog tapos si francis ang 2nd photog? kasi gusto ko talaga si mel syempre dahil sya ang daddy ng photographers nya diba? tapos binigyan nya ako ng estimate price ni mel cortez alone. sa mahal ng estimate na binigay nya, nasabi ko sa sarili ko na si francis na lang talaga (kasi ang mahal talaga ng talent fee ni mel). so after that call, hindi ko na masyadong inisip and actually nakalimutan ko na.
but today, my coordinator called them regarding schedule of prenup shoot. pero other than the prenup shoot, pinaalala ni marketing asst na hinihingi ko rin ang additional rate kung si mel cortez ang main, at sinabi nya na P**,000.00 lang daw ang additional!!!! so mega confirm naman ako. as in P**,000.00 lang so why not?
so i called decisive moments para malaman kung totoo nga talaga. and shyet! totoo nga. according to the marketing asst natuwa daw sa akin si mel kaya hindi ako binigyan ng mataas ng presyo. hay, ang bait ni lord! i swear, feeling ko meant to be kasi imagine, sa dami ng ikakasal ng jan 20 wala pang assignment si mel eh to think end of november na. and take note, may wedding si mel ng jan 19 ha? how lucky can we get na wala syang wedding on jan 20?
at eto pa, after my phone conversation with decisive moments, i called my back-up photog kix tavora (a freelance wedding photographer that i hired separately and he's technically the third photographer in our wedding team). i informed him of the new set-up and he's also happy coz it's an honor for him to work with mel cortez and finally daw he'll get to work with him. and i think sa sobrang kasiyahan ni kix, he offered a FREE prenup shoot!!! another yehey! ang saya talaga! it really pays off to be friends with your suppliers. lalo tuloy akong na-excite knowing that i will be surrounded by people that i like on the day of the wedding. and it's such a bonus knowing that the people we asked to be a part of our wedding team are people who really care about us and our wedding.
shyet! excited na talaga ko, can't wait!

i'm packed and ready to go & other news
busy, busy day!
so now i'm packed and ready to go ;)
atat ba?
this day was unkind to my spine. i had to pack my door-to-door pasalubong box coz i will be sending it to the phils this week. and since i was on the task of sorting out stuff for that, i decided to sort out stuff that i will put inside my luggage and hand carry bag too.
so as early as 9am, my room was a mess, my bed was full of canned goods, chocolates, clothes, swimsuits, towels, toiletries and australian souvenirs. grabe!
i can't believe that after 14 months, i'll be packing my stuff again...although this time, i'm inspired because i'm going home! iba ang adrenalin kumbaga.
but packing the door-to-door pasalubong box alone almost killed me. ang hirap talaga ng nag-iisa :( other than making sure that the box is secured (had to put packaging tape all over it), lifting stuff from here to there really made my back ache. and the hardest part was closing it tight with more packaging tape. i even had to sit on the box so it would close. obvious ba na pinuno ko at nahirapan akong isara sya? mygulay talaga. i haven't weighed the box yet, but i think, it's roughly 40-45 kilos. nai-imagine nyo ba kung gaano kasakit ang likod ko ngayon?
after getting the pasalubong box done, i worked on my big luggage and hand-carry bag (the ones i'll be using during transit to manila). that meant another round of getting stuff from here to there, figuring out how this and that will fit. i totaled 15 kilos on my big luggage (yay! pwede pa akong bumuli ng additional chocolates) and 2 kilos on my hand-carry bag. so it's all good.
i feel so productive today. now if only my back doesn't hurt i'd really be fine.
on other news:
i was also productive yesterday because i got to buy christmas gifts for some of my relatives here, so yay to me! the next time i go shopping, i'll be able to finish my christmas list already.
happy news:
talked to chris for two hours last night *big big smile* =) it was a fun conversation. we felt like we were in one of our saturday night dates at my place in the phils talking of things that matter to us and some stuff that doesn't. i really really miss the times we'd just talk and cuddle and not worry of anything. really can't wait for this madness to end. i mean, we're enjoying every minute of being the bride and groom in this much-awaited event but sometimes (especially now that time is passing by so quickly) it's becoming too tedious and exhausting that i can't wait for our lives to start already. as in i can't wait. at the end of the day, i just want to hold and love chris...that's all that matters.
something-to-watch-out-for news:
our invites are ready!!!!!! oh well, almost hehehe. we're missing one more thing which is a very tiny (but still important) detail ----that is the map going to the church and reception venue (oh well, our wedding team is working on it at the moment). chris forgot about it but it's okay, we're not in a hurry to invite people hehehe (joke lang). anyway, the invites are all finished!!!!! my mom sent me 9 copies (some to be given to my relatives here) last friday and i can't wait to receive it. so far, from my parents' and coordinator's comment, they love the invites because it's sooo pretty. okay that got me more excited hahaha!
hay naku, gotta rest. my back needs to sleep now (ouch talaga!)...shyet! i'm really getting old haha! good night!

pagod at inis
pagod na ako.
at naiinis na rin ako.
matapos mong mag-dial nang mag-dial nang halos trenta minutos sa telepono para lang makausap sya, wala ring kwenta. ang pangit ng linya. leche talaga!
di ko masyadong nagustuhan ang linggong ito dahil may mga bagay na nakapagbigay galit sa puso ko. marahil ay dumarating lang sa puntong pagod ka na. dumarating lang sa punto na ubos na ang pasensya mo dahil ang lahat ng ginawa mo ay napupunta lang sa wala dahil sa kakulangan ng iba. hindi ba nakakapagod yun????? at nakakainis din????? shyet talaga.
hanggang kelan ba to?

kelan ba nya matutunan na ang kahit kailan ay HINDI SYA HIHINTAYIN NG ORAS?

our newest baby
have not much words to say, except that chris and i are elated to be the parents of the newest addition to our family (haha!)...presenting 'kanyon'!
some couples are into dogs, cats, or any other living things or anything for that matter...but for us it gadgets related to visual arts and photography.
it's really amazing how these gadgets can really make us happy that even if we so far away from each other at the moment, we feel a certain high we have never felt in a long while.
anyhow, can't wait to see and play with our new baby---and of course can't wait to pose for my favorite photographer (who else but chris!) ;)

the week that was
another sunday morning....another week gone, another one starting tomorrow.
i've been really busy this week. am trying to finish my part in getting our wedding souvenirs done. i really wanna finish it today and i'm very determined about this. as in hindi matatapos ang araw na ito na hindi ko ito tapos. i really need to get a move on other things in the wedding preps and also in my life, so it's now or never.
it's nearly two months before the wedding and there's still alot of things to do. although this week, i was also able to finalized some loose ends but since most suppliers are soon to deliver their outputs (e.g. invites) thus, follow-thrus should be done as soon as possible in order for things not to pile up.
hayyyy....can't wait for this madness to end.
on to other things....
had a tourist thingy with friends last thursday. kiwi, ara's friend from the phils is here for a visit and while mark(ruth's fiancee) and eric (works for 89.1 which sponsored mark's trip) are here for the john mayer concert. their coming here has a story but i'm too busy right now to write about it. basta, nandito sila para manood ng concert ni john mayer at na-surprise si ruth dahil bigla na lang nag-appear si mark dito :)

yesterday, ara and i took kiwi to featherdale wildlife park. although, the weather was terrible (it was drizzling the whole day), we still enjoyed being with the koala and kangaroos and seeing the other animals in the zoo. photos can be seen here.
and now to the biggest highlight of our (chris and i) week...
as of friday night, it is official that we now have our first-ever DSLR camera!!!!!
presenting, our newest baby (haha!)---canon EOS 30D (chris calls him "kanyon")!!!
...another dream come true =)
