wedding updates
felt like years ago since i've updated our wedsite. chris and i have been so busy with our side of preparations. not to mention that our respective careers are getting demanding by the day. istorbo talaga ang trabaho sa preps no?
so, wazzup wazzup?
first: i've met wonderful people---who are also pinay brides like me, here in sydney!!! i've met friends online via an e-group in the phils. i've met friends here in sydney too. dumadami na ang friends ko dito. this is good. at least when chris and i settles here next year, we'd have great friends to hang out with.
second: i experiened my first ever hen's night party (a.k.a. bridal shower) last August 5. it was a shared hen's night party with four other brides. it was a four-hour cruise, with dinner, drinks and dancing...plus, of course, the main event--the male strippers. see my blog for details.
third: chris and i have finalized the design of our invites! i'm so excited to see the end product of this. chris as always, made me felt very loved when i saw the design of the invites...as in, it shows on his work (OA ba? sorry, i'm the bride so what can i do?) the moment i saw the final design, all i said was, "wow, seeing this design made me feel the love that you have for me". corny diba? hehehe. chris will now send the design to AMIS for printing of the mock-up invites.
fourth: on the wedding preps, here's our accomplishments as of today:
a. String Minstrels - they will provide music during church and reception, paid DP and have exchanged emails with ed and tina pasamba. i plan to submit the songs we want played and sung by october. we have also agreed to meet when i'm back in the phils.
b. Cecilio Abad - submitted my photos and mesurements. and last week, we have agreed that he will also design and create chris' barong. my bad, I almost forgot about the groom's attire...I was so caught up in coordination of entourage gowns, i forgot that the groom also needs to look good on his wedding day (ha!). thank god for cecil.
c. Makati Shangri-la - i got them, i got them!!!! i got them for our accommodation during wedding preps and after wedding party. thanks to mia, my heaven-sent online friend from w@w, she referred me to makati shang's director of business development and voila! i'm now exchanging emails with him (sorry, can't disclose his name). and as of this morning, I received an email from him saying that we're are now booked at the shangri-la. i'm having a beautiful and happy morning because of this. being booked at makati shang is such a natural high.
d. Elegant Creation Boutique - my mom has finalized prices of entourage gowns and as of tomorrow, my parents will be going back to their shop to pay downpayment and submit measurements of female entourage members.
e. Documents - have acquired "freedom to marry" from my parish here in sydney. chris is awaiting his "freedom to marry" as of the moment.
f. Misalette - submitted soft copy to jamie of bridal network. she will submit a copy to national shrine of the sacred heart for approval.
e. Wedding Entourage Dinner on Jan 12, 2007 - reserved pollo negro restaurant and emailed delia krolman (owner of resto) of what we need for the event.
our goals for the coming days:
1. supplier for bridal and entourage bouquets - might get april and karen yu
2. scan my photos for AVP
3. mock-up invite to be sent to us and map for the invites
4. list of songs for church and reception ceremonies
5. start working on our wedding give-aways
6. submit freedom to marry to parish
*sigh*...five months to go...we already have a lot of accomplishments to-date and we can never do all these without the help of my parents and chris' mom, my wedding coordinator and my friends back home, in w@w, and the ones here in sydney. as early as now, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyo!
let me also say thanks to my chris...as each day passes, i'm more convinced that i made the right decision in saying "yes, i'll marry you". every task, every goal we have in this wedding preparation, you are always there. never really thought that you could be this hands-on of a groom, but you never stop to amaze me with your patience with details. i can really get crazy and bitchy sometimes when something goes wrong but you always say the right things to calm me down and sometimes you just let me vent out. thanks so much bandido!
